Magic a caprese story
The happiness that was reigning upon Capri made the Sorceress of Monte Solaro so jealous that she, casting a spell, transformed the King of the island into a odd and goofy little frog, and his son, called by his subjects “The blue prince” for his eyes of the colour of the sky, in a lizard. Then the Sorceress secluded the both sovereigns on one of the Faraglioni Rocks, the sentinels of Capri. The blue prince, transformed in a lizard, slowly adapted himself to the new environment, and his skin turned from green to blue, just like Capri’s Sea, the same things that happens to the blue lizards that live on that fabulous rocks. The island, deprived of his King, was fi lled with sorrow. But in the day of the summer equinox, a little falcon fl ying around the Faraglioni spotted a small lizard, more blue than the others, with eyes fi lled with a deep sadness. Feeling pity for him she grabbed him gently with her claws and she took him with her higher and higher, despite of the warmth of the sun, so hot in that day. That amazing fl ight, springing from that love suddenly born, broke the spell cast upon both by the evil Sorceress. As soon both creatures reached the ground, the blue lizard became a prince again, and the small falcon became a beautiful maid. She said crying that she was transformed in a falcon by the Monte Solaro Sorceress, envious of her beauty. The happiness culminated in a tender hug, and the young prince, asked the maid to marry him. The return of the Blue Prince and of his new princess was greeted by a blinding light that covered the whole island: that magic signal announced that the return of the two sovereigns took back the lost happiness to the island. Today the story of the lizard turned back to prince is told by the people of the island during the most magic night of the year: the summer equinox.
